AN AQUARIUM FOR
GROWING MINDS
Kids form memories of exploring tide pools
in “The Rockpool” along rocky shores,
eyes shining with curiosity.
SEA LIFE treasures experiences
like the surprise of discovering a living creature for the first time,
and the thrill felt in those moments.
Children grasp the mysteries of life
through a fresh sensibility
that adults often lose over time.
Through this “sense of wonder*”
(the ability to marvel at mystery and awe),
children gradually come to understand the world
that takes shape around them from an early age.
Learning about diverse forms of life at a young age
can be an important step
toward understanding oneself as a human being.
SEA LIFE Nagoya Aquarium hopes
to always stand by children’s sense of wonder.

Three promises to protect the ocean and its creatures
Rescue, Restore, Protect
Bringing the joy and discovery of the ocean to all Securing a better future for the ocean and marine life SEA LIFE has established three pillars–Rescue, Restore,
and Protect–as its shared global mission. Through Rescue activities, we save marine animals that have been weakened or endangered due to injury, illness, disorientation,
or environmental change and provide appropriate care in a safe environment. Through Restore activities,
we support efforts to regenerate habitats and ecosystems for marine life at risk, helping restore the ocean’s original richness.
Through Protect activities, we offer education and awareness programs worldwide to address issues such as marine debris and the protection of endangered species.
As part of the global SEA LIFE network, SEA LIFE Nagoya Aquarium plays a role in fostering connections between people and
marine life by offering exhibits and compelling stories that highlight the importance of the ocean.
Small moments of awareness can become big steps toward changing the ocean’s future.
We invite you to join us in taking action to protect the sea.
A story woven from more than 40 years of ocean richness
The SEA LIFE aquarium brand was founded in Scotland in 1979.
Having continued to expand worldwide for over 40
years to convey the beauty and diversity of marine life,
today it operates in 48 locations across Europe, the USA, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
SEA LIFE first arrived in Japan in 2018, opening in Nagoya as part of this global network.
SEA LIFE Nagoya Aquarium is the only foreign-owned aquarium in Japan.
Through exhibits created to meet global quality standards and immersive storytelling that conveys the stories behind them,
we offer experiences that bring the appeal of marine life closer and make it more deeply felt.
In addition, we actively engage in marine conservation and educational initiatives in collaboration with SEA LIFE aquariums around the world.
