Clownfish

Crowfish 2

Clownfish

You might have heard of a rather famous clownfish… he’s called Nemo! You’ll find creatures just like him darting through coral reefs in tropical oceans of the Indo-Pacific.

Did you know that clownfish live in the poisonous tentacles of sea anemones? They are one of the only ocean creatures immune to this venom, and are protected by a thick layer of slimy mucus on their skin.

Clownfish like to live in sea anemones so that they are protected from predators and can nibble on leftover food the sea anemone catches. In return, they help keep sea anemones and the area around them clean by eating up algae and other reef debris.

At SEA LIFE you’ll come face to face with clownfish as they navigate their magical underwater kingdom!
